With our mild climate, it’s easy to grow orchids, citrus trees, roses, and even some varieties of apples!

  1. I would love to know how to grow orchids outdoors. I get them at Trader Joes and they last for months inside. Once the flowers dry up and I put them outside they die and never come back. What’s the proper way to get them to come back?

There are both indoor & outdoor orchids with more or less light & water needs. It  sounds like the orchids from Trader Joe’s are Phaelenopsis.  After bloom, cut off flower stem with clean razor blade to avoid plant virus on garden cutters.
